ACNPE Accredited Programs

Accredited Schools Overview

The Accreditation Council for Nutrition Professional Education accredits Master’s degree and Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) Programs in clinical nutrition that qualify graduates for the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential offered by the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialist (BCNS). The CNS credential is accepted for licensure in many states.

Accreditation is a rigorous process that ensures programs are providing a standards-based education and training necessary for safe and effective practice of personalized, functional nutrition. Graduate degree and SPE programs are required to meet certain standards before being accredited and must be reaccredited at least every eight years. The standards are public and transparent and can be viewed in the ACNPE Handbook of Accreditation for Degree Programs and the ACNPE Handbook of Accreditation for SPE Programs.
