Graduate Clinical Programs in Nutrition - Areas of Study

Graduate Cliical Programs
Nutrition professionals are core to the healthcare team.  They work collaboratively to provide personalized care which addresses underlying imbalances, considers the interaction of all body systems; and encompasses therapeutics, education, and behavioral change.

A key component of training includes Master's-level clinical programs based on the principles of nutrition science, cellular and systemic metabolism, biochemistry, physiology, behavioral sciences, and personalized nutrition therapeutics.  Students are taught to integrate medical nutrition therapies for restoring and optimizing health, through the mastery of topics such as:
  • Evidence-based nutrition
  • Nutritional assessment and monitoring, including genetic, genomic, epigenetic factors
  • Metabolism of macro and micronutrients
  • Advanced nutritional biochemistry 
  • Pathophysiology of complex chronic disease
  • Body systems approach to nutrition therapeutics, addressing imbalances in the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, integumentary, musculoskeletal, endocrine, immune, hormone, and neurological systems
  • Microbiomics
  • Biotransformation
  • Developmental nutrition
  • Nutraceutical and dietary supplement therapeutics
